During the first weeks of lockdown in Rome I photographed for the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant the distribution of meals to homeless people in the central area of Rome by the social operators from the Sant’Egidio community. They were the only people seen around the city streets together with the police forces. Not by choice, the street is their home.
